„Rīgas satiksme” invites to vote for drawing to be printed on e-tickets this autumn
„Rīgas satiksme” is organising for a fifth year in a row a traditional contest of children’s drawings for the e-ticket’s design, which is updated twice a year. This year drawings will be made by pupils of children and youth centre „Mīlgrāvis”. A special event was held on May 14 at tram depot No. 5, located in Brīvības Street, 191, during which children were told about the history of „Rīgas satiksme” and culture. Then a guided tour of the tram depot was organised for children, so that they could learn about specifics of work and everyday life at „Rīgas satiksme”. After the tour, under the guidance of artist Jānis Anmanis, kids made drawings whose theme was „Culture and Rīgas satiksme”. This year 28 drawings participate in the contest.
The theme of this year’s contest was determined by the status of Riga as the European capital of culture. The city is organising various events and amusements attracting Riga residents and guests. „Rīgas satiksme” offers Rigans to participate in creating the design of e-tickets by voting for the best drawing at www.rigassatiksme.lv. A website visitor can vote for one drawing once per day, from one computer.
„Rīgas satiksme” reminds that last year drawings were made by former hemato-oncological patients of Children’s clinical hospital, who have won the cancer. The most popular was the drawing by Jānis Valdmanis, which collected 1936 votes and was printed on e-tickets in the autumn of 2013.
